On October 28, 2025, the government approved the initiative of the Ministry of Education and Science (MES) to award the Cabinet of Ministers Certificate of Recognition to 27 scientists and education professionals for their significant contributions to the development of science and education in Latvia. At the end of October, programme directors of the University of Latvia (UL) participated in an online seminar organized by the Department for International Cooperation, focusing on the implementation and development of Blended Intensive Programmes (BIP) at the University. Uldis Bērziņš, leading researcher at the Institute of Atomic Physics and Spectroscopy (IAPS), Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), University of Latvia (UL), has recently returned from the 5th CERN Baltic Group Conference, held from October 14 to 16 at the Institute of Materials Science, Kaunas University of Technology.
