Faculty of Science and Technologies (FST) strives for excellence in teaching, science, and cooperation with industry. By attracting talented teaching staff – both proven researchers and promising young scientists – a fertile environment for talent development is created. Science plays a significant role in the activities of FST. The faculty has several research units that conduct research recognized not only in Latvia but also internationally. The connection between the study process and science and industry allows students to see the practical application of what they have learned in the labor market while still studying.

This is where future professionals in STEM fields are trained. We teach them to think logically, solve problems, and create innovations that are directly applicable in the job market. Physicists, mathematicians, optometrists, geologists, geographers, computer scientists, and environmental specialists from among our graduates are in demand both in Latvia and internationally. Interdisciplinary programs, modern links between science and industry, and practical skills make studying with us the start of a great career.

Your path to the future starts here!

FST researches and creates innovations that affect everything from quantum computing and biomedicine to sustainable environments and data analytics. Interdisciplinary projects and collaboration with industry allow students and researchers to put their ideas into practice, creating solutions that are recognized both in Latvia and internationally. Since 2019, the faculty has launched more than 600 projects with a total value of EUR 200 million. These projects range from nanoscience and materials technology to STEM education and spatial thinking.

This is where new ideas are born that change the world and drive the future of Latvian technology and science.
