To ensure respect for the rights, health, safety, and dignity of research participants, to prevent potential harm to both participants and society and the environment, and to strengthen the reputation of the University of Latvia as a scientific institution, two research ethics committees have been established and operate within the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Latvia to evaluate the ethical aspects of student research work.
