The Faculty of Science and Technology was established in 2024 by merging several structural units of the University of Latvia: the Faculty of Computing, the Faculty of Geography and Earth Sciences, the Faculty of Physics, Mathematics and Optometry, the Institute of Geodesy and Geoinformatics, the Institute of Chemical Physics, the Institute of Astronomy, the Institute of Atomic Physics and Spectroscopy, the Institute of Materials Mechanics, the Institute of Physics, the Interdisciplinary Center for Educational Innovation, and the Center for Natural Resources Research.
