The Laser Centre is a research unit of the University of Latvia’s Faculty of Science and Technology.
The main research directions of the Laser Centre are related to the use of lasers in:
- Manipulation of quantum states of atoms, molecules, and colour centres in diamond crystals, as well as experimental studies of hyperfine structure
- Investigation of nonlinear magneto‑optical effects in atoms – dark and bright resonances, as well as level‑crossing phenomena
- Mapping and imaging of electric and magnetic fields using optical methods, employing both atoms and colour centres in diamond crystals
- Development of magnetic‑field measurement devices with a wide range of applications, including space missions
