Survey of Participants in the 20th Baltic Student Song and Dance Festival "Gaudeamus"

From 19 to 21 June, the 20th Baltic Student Song and Dance Festival "Gaudeamus" took place in Riga, bringing together students from Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia. To preserve the valuable experience gained during the festival and to help improve future Gaudeamus celebrations, we invite all participants to share their impressions, evaluations, and suggestions by completing this survey.

We would like to learn about participants’ experiences of the festival’s artistic programme, concert performances, repertoire, venues, and organisational aspects, including catering, accommodation, communication, and other practical arrangements.

We are particularly interested in finding out what created the strongest sense of togetherness, which moments will remain the most memorable, and what could be improved for future festivals. Your feedback will help us develop recommendations for the organisers of future Gaudeamus festivals and contribute to making the Baltic Student Song and Dance Festival an even more rewarding experience.

The survey is anonymous and takes approximately 10–15 minutes to complete. We kindly invite you to fill it out.

Thank you for your time, valuable feedback, and contribution to preserving and strengthening the Gaudeamus tradition!

About the Festival

The “Gaudeamus" tradition began in 1956 in Tartu, and since then the festival has been held 20 times across the Baltic States. It is an important part of Baltic cultural and academic identity, promoting the preservation of traditions and encouraging young people’s participation in folk culture.

The festival plays a significant role in safeguarding the unique Song and Dance Festival tradition and strengthening unity among the Baltic States. The event is held alternately in each of the Baltic countries.

The festival is organised by the Ministry of Education and Science of Latvia in cooperation with the University of Latvia and the Riga City Municipality.
