Studies

The Department of Computer Science provides academic and professional study programmes at bachelor's, master's and doctoral levels.

 

Research

The Department of Computing also conducts research in computer science.

The mission of the University of Latvia in supporting the development of the computing field is:

  • to prepare highly qualified and export-capable specialists for practical work in companies and government institutions, who are able not only to design and develop complex information systems, but also to manage projects and independently master new technologies in a rapidly changing environment across the entire spectrum of the computing field;

  • to provide the computing field with academically educated specialists prepared for scientific work, capable of conducting research in computer science in Latvia, as well as fulfilling expert roles in the evaluation of new technologies and systems.

 

The Department of th Computer Science consists of three laboratories, one group and one centre of Research.
