Director

The Institute of Chemical Physics brings together scientists to conduct interdisciplinary research in physics and chemistry and collaborate with industrial companies, developing new technologies and promoting their transfer to the national economy.

The Institute of Chemical Physics has 6 groups of research:

  1. The Group of Nanomaterials and Nanotechnologies Research (led by Prof./Leading Researcher Donāts Erts);
  2. The Group of Green Energy Research (led by Leading Researcher Jana Andžāne);
  3. The Group of Nanoelectronics Devices and Materials Research (led by Leading Researcher Gunta Kunakova);
  4. The Group of Nanooptics Research (led by Leading Researcher Juris Prikulis);
  5. The Group of Radiochemistry Research (led by Leading Researcher Elīna Pajuste);
  6. The Group of Radiation Chemistry Research (led by Leading Researcher Artūrs Zariņš).

The Institute of Chemical Physics is a member of the National Research Center for Nanostructured and Multifunctional Materials, Constructions and Technologies (VNPC), and within the framework of the center closely cooperates with: the Faculty of Medicine and Life Sciences of the University of Latvia, the Faculty of Exact Sciences and Technology, the Institute of Solid State Physics of the University of Latvia, the Institute of Atomic Physics and Spectroscopy, the Institute of Microbiology and Biotechnology Institute, Riga Technical University, Institute of Physics, Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Nanotechnology, Institute of Silicate Technologies, Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis.
