From 13 to 15 October, the University of Latvia will host the 6th CERN Baltic Conference (CBC 2026), bringing together researchers, higher education institutions, policy makers and industry representatives working with CERN-related research across the Baltic states.

The annual CERN Baltic Conference is organised by the CERN Baltic Group and aims to strengthen cooperation and further develop the scientific community working in CERN-related fields in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. This year’s conference is hosted by the University of Latvia Faculty of Science and Technology, in cooperation with the CERN National Contact Point for Latvia and partners of the CERN Baltic Group.

The scientific programme will cover a broad range of CERN-related topics, including particle physics, nuclear and atomic physics, accelerator physics, particle accelerator and detector technologies, as well as medical and societal applications of particle accelerators. The conference will also include discussions on the current state and future development of CERN-related research in the Baltic region, research policy and cooperation with industry.

CBC 2026 will provide an opportunity for the Baltic scientific community to present its latest achievements, exchange knowledge and establish new collaborations. The event also aims to strengthen links between researchers, higher education institutions, policy makers and industry, supporting the continued development of the Baltic research and innovation ecosystem.

The conference will take place at the University of Latvia, Jelgavas iela 3, Riga, from 13 to 15 October 2026.

More information about the programme and registration will be available on the conference website.
