The Faculty of Science and Technology at the University of Latvia welcomes Professor Johannes Hecker Denschlag, Director of the Institute for Quantum Matter at Ulm University, as a visiting researcher within the Horizon Europe MSCA Staff Exchange project Q-DYNAMO (Quantum Dynamic Control of Atomic, Molecular and Optical Processes).

During the seminar, Professor Denschlag will present recent advances in ultracold chemistry, focusing on experiments with ultracold rubidium atoms that reveal how chemical reactions can be coherently controlled at the quantum level. The talk will demonstrate how magnetically tunable mechanisms can act as beam splitters for reaction pathways, enabling researchers to redirect reaction outcomes between different product channels. This research opens new perspectives for quantum-controlled chemistry and future interferometric approaches to steering chemical reactions.
