Call for PhD Students: Training School on MXene Nanomaterials

The Institute for Mechanics of Materials at the Faculty of Science and Technology of University of Latvia, together with the MIRACLES project, invites students to apply for the Training School “MXene from Fundamentals to Functionality”, which will take place on 11–12 April 2026 in Slovakia.

The two-day programme will introduce participants to the fundamentals and practical applications of MXene 2D nanomaterials, combining expert lectures with interactive sessions and practical work.

The programme will include:

  • lectures on 2D nanomaterials (MXenes);
  • sessions on polymer and composite materials;
  • applications in sensing, structural monitoring and advanced technologies;
  • PhD pitch presentations;
  • practical work.

The course includes 27 hours of academic and practical training (1 ECTS).

Registration is free of charge, but participants are expected to cover their travel and accommodation costs.
The number of participants is limited to 20 students.
