This spring, in collaboration with QWorld, the University of Latvia is offering a free, online course Selected Topics in Quantum Science and Technologies.

The course explores three exciting topics: Quantum Machine Learning, Quantum Key Distribution, and Quantum Error Correction.

Course Highlights:

  • Weekly online lectures, with recordings shared with all participants.
  • Open-source course materials.
  • Regular online quizzes to reinforce learning.
  • Open to all students and enthusiasts worldwide.

Dates: The course runs from February 2 to mid-May 2026.

  • Graduate students can earn 3 ECTS by enrolling in DatZD028: Selected Topics in Quantum Science and Technologies through the Department of Computer Science.

Dr. Abuzer Yakaryilmaz is an Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science, University of Latvia, conducting research in quantum science. Since 2018, he has been active in quantum education. He is the founder of QWorld (2019) and led the organization until 2024. In collaboration with QWorld, he has co-delivered multiple free online quantum courses and modules to thousands of students since 2021.
