The University of Latvia has had the Cisco Networking Academy since 2001, the first in Latvia. Initially, the University of Latvia was a regional academy, which further trained instructors from other Latvian universities. Currently, the University of Latvia has an Academy Support Centre.
All four CCNA (Cisco Certified Networking Associate) level training courses are available to students at the Faculty of Computing of the University of Latvia.
They learn both networking theory and the skills of creating switched, routed and managed computer networks. Students who have completed all four courses can pass the CCNA certification, which is recognised worldwide by the IT industry.
