On December 12, at the atrium of the House of Science the very first Christmas Ball of the Faculty of Science and Technology were hosted, bringing together faculty staff and students. Musical performances were provided by the mixed choir Aura, the band Ballīšu krusttēvi and DJ mint.

A heartfelt Christmas atmosphere was created by the performance of the mixed choir Aura. Under the direction of conductor Edgars Vītols, well-known Christmas songs in both Latvian and English were performed. Just a week later, Aura will travel to Australia to represent Latvia at one of the most significant diaspora cultural events – the Australian Latvian Cultural Days, taking place in Adelaide from December 26 to 31.

Following the choir’s performance, participants joined in decorating the Christmas tree, taking photos, and enjoying a cake. The auditoriums next to the atrium were specially decorated and arranged so that each department and student community would have its own table – a place to rest from dancing and meet the colleagues and friends throughout the evening.

Music during the ball was provided by Ballīšu krusttēvi, performing popular Latvian and international songs, while DJ mint kept the dance floor lively with energetic rhythms. Host Gints Branks encouraged guests to take part in fun dance and song games. Guests could also sing their hearts out in the karaoke room, organized by the Student Council. Festive decorations – green flags, ribbons and lights – added to the atmosphere, with special thanks to the student decorator team.

Both the preparation and the event itself united the community of staff and students – heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed and participated in making the celebration a success!
