The registration for traineeships in Estonian and Latvian space technology entities for summer of 2017 has been opened! Apply and spend your summer getting valuable knowledge and skills in some of the coolest space technology development entities in Estonia and Latvia. Traineeships are for youngsters who love space and STEM fields from Estonian and Latvian universities.

Additional information: 

Scholarships: 100 EUR per week

Accommodation: Shared accommodation options will be offered to students free of charge.

Timeline: Traineeships will be held from June 2017 to Aug 2017, exact dates will be negotiated on case by case basis with the participant and the host institute.

Kick-off workshop for all trainees will be held on 9-10 June in Tartu Observatory, Estonia where students are introduced to space technology and where they present their topics.

Student conference will be held on 28-29 August in Ventspils where all trainees will give a presentation on achieved results.

SpaceTEM project:

SpaceTEM is a new EstLat project which aims to initiate the development of NewSpace industry in Estonia and Latvia through a series of mutual activities. These activities also include:

1. Training the next generation of engineers with hands-on methods in the fields of NewSpace, through traineeships space technology development sector and space technology field summer schools;

2. Training the next generation of entrepreneurs in the fields of NewSpace through a series of startup events, workshops, hackathons, trainings and camps.

Participants from both countries will work together to fill gaps in knowledge, share ideas and collaborate on new initiative.
