Every Wednesday* from 15.00 till 19.30 the doors to the Med Tech Makerspace DF LAB will literally be open to every student looking for opportunities to make their new project a reality. DF LAB administrators Kaspars Eglitis & Georgijs Pliska will onboard visitors on how to use the on-site equipment and help plan a proof-of-concept for one's idea by lending their prototyping and design thinking skills.
DF LAB is a student-founded initiative, which primarily focuses on MedTech. Our mission is to create an ecosystem that brings together IT and medicine students but we enthusiastically work with students from other fields, too. The outcome of our work has turned into a plethora of scientific and industrial interdisciplinary projects by providing equipment for product prototyping, mobile development, as well as virtual reality and electronics solution development.
Some of the on-site equipment:
– Laser cutter (Trotec Speedy 400),
– 3D Printers (Makerbot Replicator and Z18),
– VR glasses (HTC Vive & Oculus Quest),
– Microcontrollers (Arduino & Raspberry Pi 4),
– Smart devices (Fitbit Versa 2, Google Nest, Amazon Echo Dot),
– Other devices and materials.
Every student from University of Latvia or other universities is invited as long as they can present a valid digital Covid-19 certificate.
